Choral Music Scoil Dara
“To sing is to find the joy within and share it with others.”
Scoil Dara has a long history of choral singing and currently supports two choirs. The first and main choir of the school has almost 70 members and the second choir is a Chamber choir of 25 students.
The choirs perform annually at school concerts and events, including the Christmas Carol Service. They also contribute to the wider community by performing at Tallaght University Hospital each Christmas and by taking part in a fundraising performance in Heuston Station in support of Focus Ireland. The choir is also involved in local community events and enjoys visits to local nursing homes where they entertain the residents.
Their repertoire includes popular music, musical theatre, sacred works and Irish traditional music. Rehearsals take place every Thursday after school.
